Robotic cleaning devices are not new, but the Kyvol L20 takes this concept to a new level. The design was inspired by the limitations of existing cleaning robots, which often struggle to clean certain areas effectively. The Kyvol L20, however, uses lidar technology to ensure that every corner of the house is reached.

What sets the Kyvol L20 apart from its competitors is its unique ability to record data of rooms in a building, creating detailed maps that are visualized in an app. This allows users to specify which areas the robot should clean, group several rooms together, and even define virtual walls and areas that should be avoided. Users can also select scenarios that determine the suction power and the time of day the cleaning takes place.

The robot is operated either through machine button operation or remote control via the app. The project was realized in Shenzhen, with the design process starting in December 2020 and completion in April 2021. The design team, led by XiaYijia, conducted extensive market research to ensure that the Kyvol L20 would meet the needs of modern consumers.
